Green beans are always a go-to side dish at my house. They seem to go with so many main dishes, from pot roast to baked chicken . No matter how I make them, I can always depend on my family to love them. And this easy recipe is no different.

They are simply bundles of green beans wrapped in bacon and topped with a brown sugar glaze that is then baked until they are tender yet crisp. I love to serve them with steak for when entertaining or on Easter with my honey-glazed ham and all the sides! But really, this easy green bean side dish makes a great addition to your menu!

Bacon Wrapped Green Bean Bundles

You’ll only need a handful of ingredients and about 10 minutes prep time for this recipe.

Ingredients

Be sure to see the recipe card below for the full listing of ingredients, instructions, notes, and estimated nutritional information.

  • Green Beans – You’ll want to use fresh or frozen and thawed long, thin green beans.
  • Bacon – Use a thinly sliced bacon for this recipe.
  • Seasoning – I use my Stone House Seasoning in this recipe, which is a simple mix of salt, pepper, and garlic. I give the amounts in the recipe notes below in case you don’t have it on hand or you can simply season with salt and pepper to taste. Additionally, I top each bundle with a sprinkle of brown sugar . As it bakes, it creates a delicious glaze on the bundles!

Air Fryer Green Bean Bundles

Preheat the air fryer to 375º F for 3-5 minutes. Prepare the green bean bundles and place them in a single layer, leaving space between each bundle in the preheated air fryer. Air fry for 10 minutes. Add 2 – 3 more minutes for crispier bacon if desired.

Depending on your air fryer, you may need to prepare the bundles in batches. The cooking time and temperature may vary based on your air fryer model.

Recipe Variations

  • Spicy Green Bean Bundles – Add chili powder or cayenne pepper to the topping.
  • Herbed Bundles – Sprinkle the baked bundles with chopped fresh herbs such as rosemary, thyme, or parsley.
  • Almond Green Bean Bundles – Add slivered almonds to the top of the bundles before you sprinkle them with the brown sugar.
  • Turkey Bacon – Use turkey bacon if preferred. You may need to use the olive oil listed as an option in the recipe.
  • Coconut Sugar Bundles – Replace the brown sugar with coconut sugar, if preferred.
  • Sugar-Free Bundles – Omit the brown sugar from the recipe.

Make Ahead Instructions

Prepare the green bean bundles without baking them for the final 15-20 minutes. Cover them tightly and refrigerate until ready to bake. When ready to bake, remove from the refrigerator and bake as directed. A few additional minutes may be needed.

Storage Tips

  • Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for 3 – 4 days.
  • Freezer: Store in a freezer-safe container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Reheat: Reheat in the microwave covered with a damp paper towel at 50% power for 2-3 minutes, in an air fryer at 325º for about 5 – 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, or in the oven at 325º F on a baking sheet tented with foil for 10-15 minutes. Remove the foil for the last few minutes so the bacon remains crisp.
